temporary dwellings is a commercial curatorial project established in 2026, working a range of artists, from emerging to established. We enjoy that balance, with each artist holding their own space.

The gallery is a custodian of an artist’s work for a moment in time, bringing a practice into a new context, creating space for it to be encountered differently, allowing an audience to spend time with the work. In doing so, each exhibition also reveals something of the gallery itself.

Temporality is inherent in every exhibition. There is a life before it and a life after it, but there is the moment in between, when works come together and dwell in a space, in the company of one another and the people who encounter them. That fleeting moment is the magic.

temporary dwellings is a space for things to happen, for works to be shared, stories to be told and connections to be made. We want to bring art into people’s lives and create opportunities for them to encounter work in different ways. Working both on and off-site, we remain nimble and open to collaboration.

Prior to establishing temporary dwellings, William Gustafsson programmed galleries across the UK, Europe and Asia for over a decade, alongside managing Rose Wylie’s studio.
